I believe there is  a need for more information about semi-precious minerals. Many of the semi- precious stones and beads you find here are unknown to most people. Mining sites are discovered frequently and new varities and variations in a mineral family are labeled by their discoverers and placed on the market. I have featured posting about some of these little heard of minerals.

Bill Clark- Newly graduated from College, I  took a job as a Health Physicist Trainee with a company that manufactured nuclear reactors for submarines. Because I worked nights and had plenty of time during the day,  I had the chance to get involved with “rock hunting”. My experience in lapidary provides me with the ability to select only the finest polished cabochons. Sterling silver is the metal I prefers to use because of its patina and affordability.
